The initiative aimed to inspire students to recognize their potential and understand how the growth of young minds directly contributes to the progress of the nation.
The program began with the Presidential Address by Dr. S. Mohan, Vice-Chancellor of Puducherry Technological University, who emphasized the importance of empowering youth with knowledge, innovation, and strong leadership values.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Gnanou Florence Sudha, who encouraged students to make the most of opportunities to interact with accomplished leaders from different domains.
Mr. Satyanarayanan Visvanathan, Founder of Yashmia Consulting and Technologies, introduced the keynote speakers and fondly recalled his association with Puducherry Technological University. He highlighted the collaborative efforts between PMI Chennai Chapter, Yashmia Consulting, and Le Banyan PEC in creating meaningful initiatives aimed at empowering students and nurturing future leaders.
One of the key speakers, Mr. Kaushik Ramani, Managing Partner at Network Gains and former Geo Leader at Mindtree, delivered an inspiring talk on the power of youth and the importance of the choices they make every day. Addressing the students, he shared a powerful message: “The future of India will not be built by chance; it will be built by the choices you make every day.”
The highlight of the program was the keynote address by Air Marshal (Retd.) S. Varadhaman of the Indian Air Force. During his introduction, Mr. Vijay Narayanan, President of PMI Chennai Chapter, spoke about the growing relevance of Project Management across industries and highlighted PMI Chennai’s Academic Outreach and Social Impact initiatives aimed at connecting students with global professional practices. He also shared PMI Chennai’s vision to further expand engagement with universities and colleges across Puducherry.
Through engaging slides and powerful storytelling, Air Marshal Varadhaman presented a remarkable overview of India’s journey since 1947, highlighting developments across defense, economy, technology, and medicine. He also shared inspiring real-life experiences from his service, including a moving story about how the Indian military responded to a distress message from a pregnant woman stranded in a foreign land and ensured her safety and successful delivery. His narrative beautifully reflected the spirit of courage, compassion, and service that defines the armed forces.
The session generated tremendous enthusiasm among the students. Many gathered around him after the talk to ask questions, seek career guidance, and explore opportunities to serve the nation through the armed forces.
Leaders from PMI Chennai Chapter, including Mr. Vijay Mohan Gandhi, Secretary PMI Chennai and Mr. Krishnakumar Kesavan, VP-Social Impact PMI Chennai also participated in the program, demonstrating PMI Chennai’s strong commitment to youth engagement and community development.
The event received valuable support from Mr. Satyanarayanan Visvanathan and Mrs. Sashikala Viswanathan, founders of Yashmia Consulting and Technologies.
The successful organization of the event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Students, faculty members and supporting staffs from Puducherry Technological University, including Mr. Vengat Djearaman, Dr. Charuladha Krishnamurthy, and Mr. Selvaradjou Kandasamy, whose coordination ensured a smooth and impactful program.
