🌱 A Small Step for a Cleaner Coimbatore! | First Lake Clean-Up Drive

World Lake Day is observed annually on August 27th to raise global awareness about the importance of lakes, promote sustainable management, and highlight threats like pollution and climate change. 

On account of this PMI Chennai chapter- Coimbatore branch has organized first-ever Lake Clean-Up Drive at Chinnavedampatti Lake, Coimbatore on 29 August 2026, bringing together 25 enthusiastic members who came forward to contribute to our community and environment. 

The morning began at 6:45 AM with a briefing by Our Vice President - Outreach, and Branch Lead - Coimbatore Dr B.Shyam Sundar, followed by the clean-up activity. Our volunteers worked together to collect waste from the lake surroundings until 9:00 AM. 🧤♻️ 

The activity concluded with a small breakfast, followed by a Vote of Thanks by Shyam, appreciating everyone who contributed to making the initiative a success. 

This event was very well orchestrated by our branch volunteer Geetha K - AVP, Social Impact.
