Celebrating Global Achievement
The event began with a celebratory cake-cutting, led by senior chapter leadership, recognizing PMI Chennai Chapter’s triumphant win as the “Chapter of the Year 2025”—the first time a global award of this stature has been awarded. This honor was dedicated to the collective hard work of members, volunteers, and leaders since the chapter’s inception in 2002. The celebration reflected immense pride and camaraderie among all present.

Event Highlights and Activities
Book Bites Grand Inauguration:
The launch of “Book Bites” featured an interactive Bouncer Quiz themed around Avartana, the renowned Chennai restaurant cited among Asia’s Top 50, and a thoughtfully curated “seven-course” agenda (including the quiz, dumb charades, keynote, and a lively chat session).

Mr Satya Narayanan’s keynote addressed Rajat Gupta’s autobiography, reflecting on his rise, success, downfall, and journey to redemption, with lessons on business ethics, leveraging strengths, cultural context, and risk management.
Dumb Charades & Audience Engagement:
Participants excelled at identifying book themes and messages, such as “Mind Without Fear,” the Bhagavad Gita’s influence, and “How to Lead Life?” The double JAM (Just a Minute, Just a Message) activity recognised the outstanding presenters.

Martial Arts Demonstration:
The NeoKalari presentation by Founder Ms. Lavanyaa and Co-Founder Mr. Gladston brought a captivating and educational dimension to the event. Their demonstration highlighted the rich heritage of South Indian martial arts, embodying strength, agility, and mindfulness. Participants witnessed how Kalari-based practices integrate physical conditioning with mental focus, instilling discipline and enhancing self-awareness. Beyond the impressive movements, the session emphasized practical benefits such as improved fitness, effective self-defense techniques, and stress reduction through controlled breathing and body alignment. The demonstration served as a reminder that martial arts is not just a physical activity but a holistic pathway to overall well-being, fostering resilience, confidence, and balance in everyday life.

Save Nature Drawing Competition:
The "Save Nature" drawing competition brought creativity and environmental consciousness to the forefront. Children enthusiastically showcased their artistic talents by presenting imaginative and thoughtful artworks on themes such as conservation, climate awareness, and the beauty of nature. Their drawings reflected not only artistic skill but also a deep understanding of the importance of protecting the environment. This segment of the event reinforced the chapter’s commitment to social responsibility by encouraging young minds to express their views on sustainability. The competition created an inspiring atmosphere, reminding attendees that nurturing environmental awareness from an early age is key to building a more responsible and eco-conscious community.

Key Take Away:
The event strongly reinforced the power of collective effort, showcasing how collaboration, commitment, and consistent contributions from leaders, volunteers, and members culminated in PMI Chennai Chapter being honored as the “Chapter of the Year 2025.” This milestone—achieved for the first time globally—highlighted the chapter’s long-standing dedication since 2002 and celebrated the unity, pride, and camaraderie that define its community. The recognition served not just as a celebration of past achievements but as a reminder of the shared responsibility to continue driving excellence.

The Book Bites session delivered rich lessons in ethics, leadership, and resilience, shaped by reflections on Rajat Gupta’s life journey. Through Mr. Satya Narayanan’s keynote, participants gained deeper insight into making ethical decisions, navigating risks, and understanding the importance of cultural context in leadership. The engaging activities, including the Bouncer Quiz and dumb charades, further transformed the learning experience into an enjoyable, participative, and thought-provoking segment.

The martial arts demonstration by NeoKalari emphasized the significance of holistic growth. Participants witnessed how physical fitness, mental discipline, and ethical grounding are interconnected pillars of personal development. The demonstration highlighted the importance of maintaining balance—strengthening the body, sharpening the mind, and cultivating values—a message that resonated across professional and personal domains.

The event also reaffirmed the chapter’s strong commitment to social responsibility. A volunteer-led donation drive supported students of Megumalay Government School with stationery and refurbished laptops, reflecting PMI Chennai Chapter’s ongoing dedication to community development. This thoughtful initiative underlined the belief that professional growth and social impact go hand in hand. The day concluded with group photos and the national anthem, leaving participants inspired to continue contributing to the chapter’s mission and expanding its legacy of service and learning.
