⭐ About Avtar Human Capital Trust
Avtar Human Capital Trust (AHCT), headquartered in Chennai, is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging India's gender gap in the workforce through education, skill-building, and mentorship. It focuses on empowering underprivileged girls and sensitizing boys to foster inclusive growth, with a mission to reach 10,000 women and youth annually via targeted programs.
Key initiatives include Project Puthri, which provides career guidance to girls in government schools (grades 8-12), promoting financial independence; Nipuni, a three-year employability program for undergraduates; the Puthri Scholarship for higher education; and MITR, which trains boys as gender equity allies. Over the years, AHCT has impacted thousands across Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, earning awards like the PMI South Asia Award and Tamil Nadu Government recognition.
⭐ PMICC's Role in the Partnership
Through this MOU, signed by PMICC's president, the chapter joins hands with AHCT to drive social impact by deploying project management best practices. PMICC volunteers will support program execution, such as scaling Project Puthri sessions, optimising mentorship logistics, and measuring outcomes for sustainable growth. This aligns with PMICC's commitment to community service, enhancing AHCT's reach in across Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry while equipping members with hands-on social project experience.

⭐ Expected Social Impact
The collaboration aims to empower more underprivileged youth, particularly girls, by combining AHCT's on-ground expertise with PMICC's structured methodologies for efficient scaling and impact tracking. It targets breaking poverty cycles through career intentionality, skill development, and inclusive allyship, contributing to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and a sustainable India. Early outcomes include expanded school interventions and corporate-student synergies, inspiring broader participation in social causes.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Avtar and PMI Chennai 's leadership and to all PMI Chennai Chapter volunteers for their supporting this social impact initiative. This partnership exemplifies what's possible when we unite to drive meaningful social change and empowerment.
